In India, Gulab Jamun refers to something else. For some reason during the Indian diaspora, the named was changed to refer to the dessert shown here. The unusual thing is that this occurred in the Caribbean and other countries that East Indians migrated to. The reason for this, still eludes me. Gulab Jamun is a blend of sweet and notes of ginger with a crust on the outside, but soft and decadent on the inside.
